Recently Released Service Tips - Read Only.I think that it is the physical key bottom, left most key that is being affected because changing the BIOS mapping of the Fn Key to Ctrl now "stucks" the Ctrl But I leave and come back after, they Fn/ctrl key becomes stuck again. If I somehow leave the laptop for 5 minutes, the Fn/Ctrl key unstucks itself and I cĪn press normally. On a sidenote, it seems that they arrow keys in BIOS work fine, as I can navigate and press all keys fine.Īlso, it seems that this behaviour of the keys getting stuck is temporary. I submitted this to repair and will hear back from them in a while. I believe this problem is much deeper because the On Screen Keyboard does not recognize that the keysĪre being pressed. Lock, pressing space leads to keyboard lighting change. When I press 4, it sleeps, pressing Esc leads to Fn I undo the mapping and use the keys as normal), the Fn key starts acting up and shows behaviour described above.

This is a related problem to the above posts because when I go into BIOS and remap Fn/Ctrl (before I mapped Fn -> Ctrl which was why Ctrl was being stuck, now On the On screen keyboard, it does NOT show that any Ctrl key is being pressed. I also tested this with an external USB keyboard and, even when not pressing Ctrl any where, the laptop thinks as if Ctrl is being pressed. Likewise, pressing "n" opens up a new window and "shift-n" opens a new incognito For example, when I open up Chrome and press the key "t" only, a new tab opens up. I updated my computer with Windows Update, and after it rebooted, the Ctrl Key was stuck.
